CBA Spotlight: Randall Brumfield
Director
UCF Undergraduate Student Services
Randall Brumfield has only worked in the College of Business Administration a short time, but he has already made a big difference!
Before joining our college, Brumfield was the assistant director of Enrollment Services for UCF Regional Campuses in Cocoa. Currently, he serves as the director of the CBA Undergraduate Student Services (USS).
"My interest in the college was particularly drawn by its academic standards and organizational expectations, as well as the challenges that result from serving a significant student population," he said.
Brumfield has implemented some solutions on how to meet those challenges head on. One such example is the new COBA Pass Program. With assistance from the Technology Resource Center, undergraduate students now have the opportunity to reserve a time slot online and avoid waiting at the USS office. The COBA Pass reservation system allows more flexibility for students to select a day and time that is convenient for them to meet with an academic advisor. "Both students and staff are in a position to maintain the best of both worlds: more options for advising visits can be planned for, and time can be more effectively managed throughout each day. Suffice to say, more students can be served on a daily basis," Brumfield said.
Brumfield manages a staff of 10, in addition to five student peer advisors. "The USS office consists of a group of dedicated individuals who share a sincere and genuine desire to help students reach their goals. With CBA offering the only centralized academic advisement on the UCF campus, USS staff share a broad knowledge and expertise regarding college policies and administrative processes," he said.
When the Arkansas native is not busy at work, Brumfield enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and daughter Amelia, landscaping, and enjoying the peaks (and valleys) of football season.
