The Department of Economics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) has one of the highest concentrations of environmental and natural resource economists in the nation, and is acquiring a position of international leadership in ENR economics. Currently, there are several faculty members with expertise in ENR economics at all professorial ranks, including the inaugural holder of the Galloway Eminent Scholar Chair, the holder of a Provost Research Enhanced Professorship, and the holder of the Richard T. Crotty Orange County Endowed Chair in Economics. UCF environmental and natural resource economics faculty regularly publish in leading refereed journals, including Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, the Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory, International Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Public Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the American Statistical Association, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Journal of Regional Science.
Our department has scholars who actively engage in collaborative research and are internationally recognized in the fields of Behavioral Economics and Experimental Economics. The laboratory facilities at the College of Business Administration are world-class. Faculty in these areas have published in journals such as Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, the Economic Journal, International Economic Review, Experimental Economics, and Economics and Philosophy.
The economics faculty have more than $1 million in research funding from such agencies as the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Department faculty members also currently serve on the editorial boards of seven academic journals, and three members have served at various times as editors or associate editors of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, the leading ENR economics journal.
