Ph. D. in Economics

The Department of Economics offers a Ph.D. program in Economics that is designed to prepare students for professional positions in academia, government, or private consulting. The program develops students' theoretical skills through a rigorous core curriculum of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics as well as field specializations in either environmental and natural resource economics or behavioral economics, or both. In addition, students can enhance their personal skills through additional electives in industrial organization, international economics, public economics, and economic development.

To be considered for financial assistance, students should complete all the application requirements by January 15, 2008. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2008 but these students may not receive first consideration for financial assistance.
