Central Florida Experimental Economics Laboratory

Would you like to take part in important research and earn money at the same time?

Researchers in the Economics Department conduct behavioral experiments on a frequent basis throughout the year. These studies have been approved by the UCF Institutional Review Board. All UCF students are eligible to participate, as long as they are over 18 years of age, as there are no requirements for any prior knowledge of economics. Sessions generally last 1-2 hours and participants are always paid in cash at the end of each session. Earnings differ from session to session, but average earnings are generally around $15.00 per hour.

As in the actual economy and business world, your earnings will depend upon the choices you make during the simulation as well as the choices other participants make. Once you have registered with us, you can sign up on-line for sessions that fit your schedule and sound interesting to you - there is no further obligation. If you are interested in participating you first have to register your interest by completing the Student Registration form. Once you are registered you will receive email notifications of upcoming sessions, and will get access to our online calendar where you can sign up for particular sessions. When registering and asked for Student ID please construct a number using the following formula:

  • Two numbers representing the month of your mother's birthday, plus your mother's first name initial
  • Two numbers representing the day of your birthday
  • Your first name and last name initial

Thus the string you create will have 2 numbers 1 letter 2 numbers 2 letters, for example:

08d03mk

After registration you can logon here. You may remove yourself from registration at any time after logging on.
