Olga Rodriguez Calvet, '71, Vice President and C.F.O, Palmas, Inc.
Upon graduating cum laude with her B.S.B.A., Olga entered the accounting field, earned her C.P.A. and eventually established her own practice. She sold her firm in 1986 and joined Palmas, Inc. As vice president and chief financial officer, she oversees the financial administration of the company that grosses $30 million annually and employs 500 people. Palmas, Inc. owns such Central Florida restaurants as the San Angel Inn at the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT and the Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs Resort.
While at UCF, Olga was extremely involved in many civic and community organizations, a practice she still continues. She is the Immediate Past President of the Frontier Civitan Club, Community Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. board member, senior club sponsor for the Junior Civitan Club at Bishop Moore High School and has served as the International Director (representing the southeastern U.S.) of Civitan International. She was also the first woman elected to serve as Governor of the Florida District of Civitan International.
Throughout the years, she has remained loyal to her alma mater by serving on the Foundation Board and on the UCF Board of Trustees.
