General Management

All businesses require individuals trained to understand the "big picture" of how organizations function. The General Management concentration provides an opportunity for students to begin to develop this expertise through the focus of the required curriculum on the essential business functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling within a global business environment. Students completing the General Management concentration will understand how management theory and tools can assist organizations in achieving their strategic plans.

The curriculum lays a solid foundation for the pursuit of careers in countless areas in business as well as in non-profit organizations. Students desiring success in a functional business area (e.g., marketing, finance) can also benefit from the development of their expertise in general management theory and tools. To earn the General Management degree, students must complete 24 semester hours of course work.
