Lockstep Evening MBA

The Lockstep Evening MBA is an evening program designed to accommodate the working professional, students continuing from a bachelor's, or international students.

MBA Foundation Core (12 hours)

Foundation courses are primarily for non-business undergraduates who have not completed equivalent undergraduate business courses.  To take foundation courses you must be admitted to the MBA program.  Apply to spring or summer if you need foundation courses.  ACG6065, ECO6418 & ECO6405 are pre-requisites for Core I.  FIN6404 is a pre-requisite for Core II.

  • ECO 6405 Business Statistical Concepts & Methods (3 hrs) Summer

Professional Core (39 hours)

Core I: Decision-Making Tools (18 hours)

  • *BUL 6444 Law and Ethics (3 hours)
  • ECO 6416 Applied Business Research Tools (3 hours)
  • MAN 6245 Organizational Behavior & Development (3 hours)
  • *ACG 6425 Managerial Accounting Analysis (3 hours)
  • ECO 6115 Economic Analysis of the Firm (3 hours)
  • GEB 6365 International Business Analysis (3 hours)

*Students planning to sit for the CPA exam must substitute approved CPA courses for ACG 6425 and BUL 6444.

Core II: Decision Applications (12 hours)

  • MAR 6816 Strategic Marketing Management (3 hours)
  • FIN 6406 Strategic Financial Management (3 hours)
  • ISM 6367 Strategic Information Systems (3 hours)
  • MAN 6721 Applied Strategy and Business Policy (3 hours) requires grade of "B" or better.

Professional Core Class Sequence (part time schedule)

Students may attend full-time or part-time. Full time course load is 9 hours fall/spring, 6 hours summer. Elective may be taken in any term.

  • 1st Fall: ECO 6416 & MAN 6245
  • 1st Spring: ECO 6115 & ACG 6425
  • 2nd Fall: BUL 6444 & FIN 6406
  • 2nd Spring: GEB 6365
  • 3rd Fall: MAR 6816
  • 3rd Spring: MAN 6721 & ISM 6367

Electives/Internship (9 hours)

Check all elective course prerequisites in the graduate catalog. Take electives in any term, including summer.

  • Unrestricted electives: any 5000 & 6000 level business courses, excluding all 6000 level MBA foundation courses.
  • Restricted electives: A maximum of 2 courses or 6 hrs may be taken outside the College of Business Administration, with permission from the Graduate Programs Office prior to taking the course.
  • Internship: A maximum of 6 elective hrs may be used toward internship credit.
  • Certificate Option: Certain business electives will count as elective and certificate credit. You must apply to a certificate program for this option.
